It might as well be spring?
Today I'd hoped to celebrate the coming of Spring, but when I woke up and looked out the window, everything was covered with a layer of snow! I had to go back to my archives to find a photo of myself sitting in the sunshine.
All I'd like to do is go out in the backyard and cat around a little. I'd even step across the snow that's still piled up in the shade next to our back steps. But today is too cold. Maybe tomorrow?

Spring? What Spring? But why not Nowruz?
Humans celebrate the Vernal Equinox today. Me? I'm waiting for the snow to melt. Alas, they're predicting more of the ugly white stuff tonight, here in Minnesota.
But since some of my ancestors were Persian cats, I'm planning to celebrate Nowruz. In Iran and other parts of the world, humans of Persian descent celebrate Nowruz, the spring festival that begins on the Equinox. This is the beginning of the year! Humans enjoy sweet treats, family celebrations, and public bonfires. It hasn't been reported what cats do on Nowruz, but surely we deserve our own feast of fried fish and roasted quail.

A dream comes true
My poem on the Vernal Equinox may have been a dream, but yesterday, my dream came true.
It certainly wasn't an easy journey. The sheet of ice was cold and wet.
But in the end, I made it out to the dry, sunny patio.
I am still a fool for Spring!
Don't forget the join in the Carnival of the Cats tomorrow at Scribblings.
